Abstract

The development of information technology has brought significant changes to the ways in which Islamic preaching (da'wah) is delivered. Social media has emerged as a new space that enables Islamic messages to be disseminated more widely, rapidly, and in accordance with the characteristics of digital society. One figure who utilizes social media as a medium for da'wah is Kadam Sidik, who has gained particular appeal among Generation Z. This study aims to examine the perceptions of lecturers at the Faculty of Da'wah regarding Kadam Sidik's da'wah, including his da'wah methods, the materials delivered, the use of social media, its influence on society, the relevance of his da'wah, and aspects that need further development. This study employed a qualitative approach. Primary data were obtained through in-depth interviews with lecturers at the Faculty of Da'wah who were selected using purposive sampling, while secondary data were obtained from books, scholarly journals, articles, documentation, and other written sources related to digital da'wah and social media. Data were collected through observation of Kadam Sidik's da'wah content on social media, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed descriptively through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that lecturers at the Faculty of Da'wah generally hold positive perceptions of Kadam Sidik's da'wah. His da'wah is considered capable of adapting its language, communication style, content, and media to the characteristics of younger audiences. The use of TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube is considered effective in expanding the reach of da'wah, while the delivery of simple and contextual materials is one of its strengths in attracting the attention of Generation Z. Nevertheless, the lecturers emphasized the importance of strengthening the materials with references to the Qur'an, Hadith, and scholarly opinions so that effective communication remains supported by sound academic and religious foundations. Kadam Sidik's da'wah is considered relevant to the development of digital society and has the potential to influence young people's interest in religious messages. This study concludes that Kadam Sidik's da'wah represents an adaptation of Islamic preaching to the development of digital media, with considerable reach and appeal among younger generations. Further development is needed in terms of substance, content quality, consistency, and the integration of digital da'wah with direct forms of Islamic preaching.
