The Independent Curriculum, which provides educational units with the flexibility to develop curricula tailored to local needs, opens up significant opportunities for strengthening Islamic values, not only limited to Islamic Religious Education subjects but also internalized in various aspects of learning. This effort is crucial considering the increasingly complex challenges of the times that demand a strong moral, ethical, and spiritual foundation for the younger generation. Through this integration, it is hoped that students will not only understand Islamic concepts theoretically but also be able to practice them in their daily lives, thus creating individuals who are knowledgeable, have noble character, and contribute positively to society. The research method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive analysis approach. This approach aims to gain a deep understanding of the phenomenon of the integration of Islamic values into the Independent Curriculum in elementary schools through natural and contextual data collection. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed descriptively to describe the patterns, meanings, and processes of integrating Islamic values into learning. Data analysis was conducted systematically, starting from data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, so that the research results can provide a comprehensive picture of the implementation of Islamic values in the elementary school environment. This study aims to analyze how SDN 160 Sukalaksana Cicadas integrates Islamic values in the Independent Curriculum through character building in the elementary school environment. This school implements various religious activities regularly, such as reciting the Asmaul Husana and short surahs before classes begin, performing the Dhuha prayer every Friday, and holding a short sermon to deepen the understanding and practice of key character values in everyday life. In addition, the school also holds Islamic Religious Education (PAI) performances every month and regularly commemorates Islamic Holidays (PHBI) as a form of spiritual strengthening for students. This character building approach is very much in line with the spirit of the Independent Curriculum, which emphasizes flexibility and contextualization of learning according to local needs. The research results show that educational success at SDN 160 Sukalaksana Cicadas is measured not only by academic achievement, but more so by behavioral changes and the formation of positive habits instilled in students. These findings indicate that integrating Islamic values through character building can be an effective model for supporting the character and spiritual development of students in elementary schools.
Ibnu Hanif Akbari Nisrina Salsabila Dermawan Revalina Salsa Agustin Muhsin Copyright (c) 2025 Ibnu Hanif Akbari, Nisrina Salsabila Dermawan, Revalina Salsa Agustin, Muhsin https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 2025-09-24 2025-09-24 7 3 68 – 82 68 – 82 Implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka dalam Pembelajaran PAI di SMPN 07 Kota Cimahi https://journal-laaroiba.com/ojs/index.php/jdi/article/view/9476
The implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in educational units emphasizes freedom and flexibility in learning, for both teachers and students. However, PAI implementation often faces methodological constraints, primarily due to a one-way, rote-learning approach that neglects meaningful dialogue, contextual understanding, and value internalization. This approach is also reflected in evaluation systems that prioritize cognitive achievement, often overlooking affective, reflective, and psychomotor aspects. In the context of 21st-century educational challenges, the learning paradigm demands a fundamental shift from teacher-centered to student-centered models, emphasizing active and contextual meaning construction. This shift necessitates participatory, dialogic, and integrative methods where students are active agents in building understanding and life values. This research examines the relevance and potential of integrating deep learning in PAI instruction to enhance the effectiveness and relevance of the educational process. Through a literature review, it was found that deep learning is built upon three pillars: mindful learning, meaningful learning, and joyful learning, which align with the concept of tafaqquh fi al-din (deep understanding of religion). This approach promotes profound conceptual understanding, value internalization, the development of critical and reflective thinking, increased spiritual awareness, and enhanced learning motivation. Strategies such as Problem-Based Learning, Project-Based Learning, Inquiry Learning, Contextual Teaching and Learning, and Storytelling are highly suitable for implementation. While deep learning offers significant benefits in fostering adaptive and virtuous individuals (insan kamil), its implementation faces various challenges, including uneven teacher competence, time limitations, low student motivation, lack of contextual and digital learning media, a prevailing rote-learning culture, curriculum policy inconsistencies, technological access gaps, and difficulties in objectively assessing affective and spiritual aspects. This research recommends integrating deep learning as a framework for developing a transformative, contextual, and student-centered PAI curriculum to prepare a generation that is intelligent, possesses integrity, and is ready to compete in the global era.
Syifa Nurul Qolbiah Pradina Arief Budiman Nazhif Azwan Albany Endi Suhendi Copyright (c) 2025 Syifa Nurul Qolbiah, Pradina Arief Budiman, Nazhif Azwan Albany, Endi Suhendi https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 2025-09-24 2025-09-24 7 3 94 – 106 94 – 106 Penerapan Nilai-nilai Moderasi Beragama di SMP Al-Kenzie https://journal-laaroiba.com/ojs/index.php/jdi/article/view/9496
Implementing religious moderation values in schools is an effective step to help students implement a culture of tolerance. This research uses a literature study method. The results show that monotheism education can shape the character of children who are noble, spiritually resilient, and able to face the challenges of the times with the provision of faith values. The instillation of monotheism can be done through the methods of mauidzah, hiwar, uswah, ibrah, and amtsal as stipulated in the Qur'an and the Prophet's practice. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The research focuses on three dimensions of child development based on Bloom's Taxonomy: cognitive, affective, and psychomotor. The findings indicate that democratic parenting—characterized by open communication, respect for children’s opinions, modeling, and habituation—significantly contributes to the formation of Islamic character in children. Cognitively, children are able to understand Islamic moral values; affectively, they demonstrate empathy and positive emotional attachment; psychomotorically, they consistently apply moral values in daily behavior. This study strengthens previous findings on the effectiveness of democratic parenting and expands the discussion by highlighting its impact on the psychomotor domain, which is often overlooked. Furthermore, the ta’dib approach from Islamic Educational Philosophy offers a deeper interpretative framework for understanding the character formation process. The study recommends strengthening collaboration between parents and Islamic educational institutions to build a parenting system that aligns with Islamic values.
Musta'in Akhmad Afandi Copyright (c) 2025 Musta'in, Akhmad Afandi https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 2025-09-24 2025-09-24 7 3 1 8
