This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Indonesian Museum Association (AMI) Code of Ethics and identify the factors constraining its implementation at the Sambas Regional Museum. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Research informants consisted of museum managers and visitors selected based on their involvement and experience in museum activities. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the code of ethics has been implemented in several aspects, including managerial integrity, protection of sensitive information, collection acquisition based on historical and educational values, collection recording and documentation, collection legality, scientific research, and prohibition of cultural heritage trade. Implementation remains suboptimal in collection conservation, security, exhibition innovation, compliance with standard operating procedures, and human resource development. The main constraints include limited funding, vacant conservator and educator positions, inadequate socialization and training, insufficient facilities, weak supervision, multiple job assignments, tolerance of procedural violations, and limited evaluation. Strengthening human resource competencies, facilities, supervision, and evaluation is necessary to improve consistent implementation of the code of ethics.
