Konsep Kasih Sayang dan Empati dalam Keluarga menurut Al-Qur’an: Kajian Tafsir terhadap Nilai Rahmah dalam Relasi Orang Tua dan Anak

Abstrak

This study is motivated by the phenomenon of shifting values in modern family parenting patterns, which are often trapped in emotionless routines, crises of trust, and even domestic violence (KDRT). Amid life pressures and the currents of modernity, the role of the family as madrasatul ulaa (the first school) faces serious challenges. This paper aims to explore the concept of rahmah (compassion) in the Qur’an, particularly through an analysis of Surah Al-Isra verse 24, and to examine its relevance in building harmonious relationships and shaping children's character in the contemporary era. The research method employed is library research with a thematic tafsir approach. The author refers to both classical and modern exegetical scholars to analyze the meaning of rahmah as an emotional and spiritual foundation. The findings show that: (1) The concept of rahmah in the Qur’an requires an attitude of tawadhu (humility) and deep empathy, symbolized by the expression “lowering the wing of humility” before one’s parents; (2) The value of rahmah functions as an “emotional bond” that transforms authoritarian or permissive parenting styles into communicative and understanding approaches; (3) The Qur’anic teachings of sakinah, mawaddah, and rahmah are highly relevant as solutions to modern family problems, where spiritual strength and parental role modelling are key in shaping children with noble character. This study concludes that prioritizing compassion is not merely theoretical, but a long-term investment in building resilient families capable of facing the challenges of changing times.
