Pengaruh Kecerdasan Emosional terhadap Pengambilan Keputusan Personel Reserse Polda FGD dengan Dukungan Sosial sebagai Moderator
Abstract
Decision-making is one of the essential competencies that must be possessed by police personnel, particularly those serving in the Criminal Investigation Unit (Reserse), which carries significant responsibilities in the process of criminal investigation and inquiry. Decision-making ability is influenced by various psychological factors and work environment conditions, including emotional intelligence and social support. This study aims to examine the effect of emotional intelligence on the decision-making of Reserse personnel, with social support acting as a moderating variable. This research employs a quantitative approach using a survey method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 120 Reserse personnel of the Regional Police, who served as the respondents of the study. The research instruments used a five-point Likert scale to measure emotional intelligence, social support, and decision-making. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive analysis, Pearson correlation tests, and path analysis with the assistance of SPSS version 25 software. The results indicate that emotional intelligence has a positive effect on the decision-making of Reserse personnel. In addition, social support plays a role in strengthening the relationship between emotional intelligence and decision-making. Personnel with higher emotional intelligence and stronger social support from supervisors, colleagues, and family tend to demonstrate more effective decision-making abilities. This study implies that developing emotional intelligence and strengthening social support within police organizations are important strategies to improve the quality of decision-making among Reserse personnel.
