Abstract

This research is motivated by the prevalence of bad habits related to procrastination and poor time management among students in the digital era. This research is motivated by the prevalence of bad habits related to procrastination and poor time management among students in the digital era. This research is motivated by the prevalence of detrimental habits related to procrastination and poor time management among students in the digital era. This phenomenon indicates the weak internalization of the character of discipline, which has tended to be regulated secularly. This study aims to reconstruct the concept of time discipline in the book Ta'lim al-Muta'allim by Shaykh Burhanuddin Az-Zarnuji through the perspective of Islamic educational philosophy. The research method used is library research with content analysis and philosophical hermeneutics as data analysis techniques. The results of thematic data tracking indicate that Shaykh Az-Zarnuji conceptualizes time as sacred, viewing it through the lens of seeking blessings, which is driven by the principles of sincerity in al-jadd and the continuity of al-muwādabah. This internalization is formulated in the concept of "Theo-Discipline of Time" as a spiritual mechanism that combines the optimization of Sahar time and the gradual habituation method of al-tadrīj. Functionally, this concept effectively reduces the tendency to procrastinate (thūlul mal), a cause of procrastination, by strengthening self-control based on religious principles. The research has implications for the importance of the relationship between theological motivation and the formulation of character education curricula in the present.
