Penerapan Teknologi AI (Artificial Intelligence) dalam Pembelajaran Pesantren

Abstract

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology has now become an inevitability for islamic boarding schools (pesantren) to maintain curriculum relevance and enhance learning effectiveness in the digital era. However, the transformation from conventional methods like sorogan and bandongan to AI system face unique challenges. These range from infrastructure readiness to concerns over the potential shift in the spiritual values inherent in the relationship between students (santri) and their teachers (kiai and ustadz). The study utlizes a library research method. This approach in based on collecting and analyzing data sourced from literature, books, journal article, scientific publication, and other relevant sources. Through this research, an explanation regarding the implementation of AI technology in pesantren learning as an intructional innovation is obtained. The results of this study indicate that an AI supported technological innovation approach in learning serves as an innovative solution to improve educational quality. The learning innovations comprise: 1) adaptive learning, 2) technological assistance, adn 3) learning management. There are challenges such as infrasrtructure limitations, digital literacy gaps, and resistance to change. However, significant opportunities exist to overcome them through a strategic approach. AI helps pesantren adapt to technological advancements without losing their core identity. AI acts as a supporting tool and does not fully replace the role of educators in instilling moral values and character, which remains highly relevant in innovative learning.
