Analisis Kenyamanan Pemustaka Terhadap Tata Ruang Geo-Kids Ruang Baca Anak di Perpustakaan Pusat Survei Geologi Bandung

Abstrak

This study was motivated by the importance of a comfortable layout that is in line with ergonomic concepts in supporting library users' activities in the Geo-kids service room. The Geo-kids room is one of the services available at the Bandung Geological Survey Centre library, which is a reading room facility for children. The Geo-kids room still faces   obstacles in its spatial arrangement, such as in terms of furniture, noise, air circulation, and limited accessibility. The purpose of this study is to analyse the level of user comfort with the Geo-kids spatial arrangement or children's reading room and the suitability of the Geo-kids spatial arrangement with the concept of ergonomics and comfort for children's libraries. This study focuses on three main aspects: the level of user comfort with the Geo-kids layout, layout factors that affect user comfort, and the suitability of the Geo-kids layout with ergonomic principles for children's library spaces. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study research method. Research data was collected through a series of observations, interviews, and documentation involving librarians and Geo-kids service users. The data analysis techniques used were data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The theoretical basis used in this study was Rustam Hakim's Theory of Space Comfort and the IFLA Guidelines for Children's Library Services for ages 0-18 years. The results showed that, in general, library users felt comfortable when using the Geo-kids service, although in some aspects, such as furniture, noise levels, and accessibility, improvements were still needed. The Geo-kids layout has met most of the principles of space comfort and ergonomics, although in some aspects such as furniture, noise, and room accessibility, improvements are still needed in order to comply with the principles of ergonomics for children's library spaces and to create an ideal, comfortable, and safe reading space for library users.
