Pemberdayaan Perempuan Pesisir dalam Mitigasi Bencana dan Adaptasi Perubahan Iklim: Refleksi Kegiatan Partisipatif di Desa Bontosunggu, Kepulauan Selayar

Abstrak

Coastal areas face risks associated with changing environmental and climatic conditions, while a community's capacity to respond to these risks is shaped by socio-economic conditions, social networks, local knowledge, and institutional frameworks. This article describes the process of empowering coastal women in disaster mitigation and climate change adaptation activities in Bontosunggu Village, Bontoharu District, Selayar Islands Regency. The article employs a qualitative descriptive approach, drawing on narrative reports and photographic documentation of activities that took place on August 20, 2026. The initiative utilized a participatory approach, providing a space for members of the *Community Empowerment Istri Nelayan* (CEIN)—a group for the empowerment of fishers' wives—to share their experiences and knowledge regarding environmental shifts, weather and seasonal patterns, disaster risks, impacts on their families and livelihoods, preparedness, social capital, local wisdom, the roles of women, and institutional structures. The report indicates that these discussions served as a platform for identifying the community’s issues, capacities, vulnerabilities, and potential social capital. One notable aspiration expressed by CEIN members was the desire to form a disaster-preparedness group. The article underscores the importance of integrating local knowledge with scientific information and positioning women as key actors in risk governance.
