Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of parents in improving children’s learning in Sasak Panjang Village, the forms of assistance provided by parents, and the challenges faced in supporting children’s learning processes. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. The data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving parents, children, and school personnel related to children’s learning activities. Data analysis was conducted through three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that parents play an important role in improving children’s learning through learning assistance, motivation, provision of learning facilities, supervision of gadget use, and communication with the school. Parents also strive to establish learning habits at home and provide appreciation when children demonstrate progress. However, several challenges were encountered, including limited time due to work commitments, parents’ difficulties in understanding learning materials, limited learning facilities, and excessive gadget use. Therefore, consistent parental involvement and cooperation between families and schools are important factors in supporting the success of children’s learning.
