Intensi dan Adopsi Penggunaan ChatGPT dalam Proses Akademik: Analisis Potensi Fraud Akademik pada Mahasiswa Akuntansi Syariah Di UIN Madura

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) based technology has had a major influence on the world of higher education. One of the technologies commonly used by students is ChatGPT, which is a technology that can understand, process and produce language like humans. In academic learning, this technology is used by students to help understand lecture material, prepare assignment frameworks. Behind the use of ChatGPT, it has the benefit of causing academic fraud, such as plagiarism, technology dependence, and the use of instant answers without critical thinking. The researcher took the title of this research to analyze the intention, level of adoption, potential for academic fraud in the use of ChatGPT among students, especially the sharia accounting study program at UIN Madura. Qualitative phenomenology was taken by researchers as a research study method. The informants in this research used 6 active students who were selected using purposive sampling techniques. The data taken by researchers was collected through interviews, observation and documentation, and literature review. The data analysis used uses the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña model through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. This research shows that the intention to use ChatGPT is influenced by perceived benefits, ease of use, and the influence of the social environment. The level of adoption is categorized as quite high, this can be seen from the frequency of use, diversity of purposes, and integration in the academic process. The potential for academic fraud arises in the form of direct data copying, minimal understanding of the material, and dependence on technology. However, some students still use ChatGPT ethically as a learning aid for UIN Madura students
