Nilai Pendidikan Karakter dalam Buku Cerita Anak Sepatu Bola Ngatemin Karya Djokolelono
Abstrak
Character education is a crucial part of shaping learners' personalities, and children's literature can serve as an effective medium to instill moral values implicitly. This study aims to analyze the character-education values contained in the children's book Sepatu Bola Ngatemin by Djokolelono and to examine its relevance as a fiction-material teaching module for junior high school. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with a content-analysis method, using the book as its subject and character-education values as its object. Data were collected through reading and note-taking techniques and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, comprising data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the book fully contains the five main character-education values based on the Kemendikbud framework, namely religious, nationalism, integrity, independence, and mutual cooperation. Integrity and independence emerge as the most dominant values through the main character Ngatemin's struggle in maintaining honesty, refusing bribery, and working hard to replace his friend's lost shoes. The religious, nationalism, and mutual-cooperation values appear naturally through the characters' habits and social relations.
