Internalisasi Nilai-Nilai Wasathiyah Aswaja dalam Pembentukan Karakter Santri di Pesantren

Abstrak

Pesantren plays a strategic role in shaping santri character that is religious, independent, tolerant, and civilized. However, the challenges of radicalism, liberalism, individualism, and socio-digital change require pesantren education to strengthen Aswaja wasathiyah values more systematically. This study aims to analyze the internalization of Aswaja wasathiyah values in shaping santri character in pesantren. This article employs library research with a qualitative-descriptive approach. The primary sources are Aswaja educational literature, particularly discussions on Aswaja moderation, Aswaja education and da'wah, and pesantren as a character-building environment, supported by journal articles, academic books, modules, and official reports published between 2021 and 2026. The findings show that the internalization of tawassuth, tasamuh, tawazun, and i'tidal can be carried out through kitab-based learning, the exemplary role of kiai and teachers, religious habituation, pesantren culture, collective discipline, bahtsul masail, religious literacy strengthening, and social mentoring. Aswaja wasathiyah values contribute to forming santri who are moderate, tolerant, critical, ethical, and prepared to live in a plural society. This study recommends strengthening curriculum design, hidden curriculum, role modeling, character assessment, and inter-pesantren collaboration to build a moderate educational ecosystem.
